Research

I am currently working as a post doctoral researcher in Uni. Turku and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Department of Plant Protection Biology, Integrated Plant Protection Unit, Alnarp campus).

I am studying the use of chemical pesticides in strawberry cultivation could be reduced by

1) increasing genetic diversity in the cultivation fields and

2) via utilization of plant resistance

3) I will also study, how damage by multiple pests affects the berry- and runner production and susceptibility of berries to fruit-rotting grey mould.

My study species is the woodland strawberry (Fragaria vesca)- a wild and close relative to commercial strawberry cultivars.
