I defended my doctoral thesis (Towards Startup-Finland? The Shifting Meanings of Entrepreneurship in Post-industrial Finland) in May 2022. I am currently working as a senior researcher in Sociology unit at the Department of Social Research in University of Turku.

I finished my Master of Social Science degree in University of Turku in 2015. In my Master's thesis, I analyzed the meanings students in higher education attach to work life utilizing a theoretical framework of post-industrial work and capitalism. 

In my doctoral thesis, I studied entrepreneurship in a post-industrial context. I analyzed the meanings attached to startup entrepreneurship in the contexts of Finnish political discourse, Finnish startup incubators and startup -related higher education. Three sets of data were used: Finland’s Government Programs from late 1970s to 2010s, websites of various HE startup incubators and Finnish guidebook and nonfiction literature discussing startup entrepreneurship. The thesis produced knowledge on startup entrepreneurship discourse and its relation to meanings of citizenship and work life in a post-industrial, competition-oriented welfare state.

Generally, I'm intrested in the sociology of work, entrepreneurship and citizenship in the context of knowledge-based economy and digital capitalism. 

From February to April 2022 I worked as a university teacher in Economic sociology at the Department of Social Research in University of Turku. My tasks included teaching in Master degree level courses. From October 2020 to July 2021 I worked as a university teacher at the Department of Social Research in University of Turku. My tasks included teaching in Bachelor degree level courses.

I have teached regularly at the Department of Social Research in University of Turku since 2018, particularly in courses related to qualitative research methodology.
