I am a University Teacher working at the University of Turku, in Social Work, and a Visiting Researcher affiliated with the School of Public Health, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
My PhD study examines care networks of Mozambican background self-settled refugees aging in rural South Africa. The study aims to build care theory on inadequate care in resource-poor settings.
My research interests include social work in Southern Africa (Mozambique and South Africa), community social work, community-driven interventions, care studies and family caregiving, aging, migration, ethnography, social networks, and applied anthropology.
