Since fall 2025, I work as a University Lecturer in Industrial Engineering and Management. 

Before joining the University of Turku, I worked from 1995 to 2014 as a researcher, teacher and project manager at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management of the Helsinki University of Technology, later Aalto University; from 2015 to 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher and assistant professor at the Department of Management and Organisation at Hanken School of Economics and from 2021 to 2025 as a senior management consultant in the private sector.  

In addition to the aforementioned universities, I have taught courses related to organisations and management at the University of Helsinki, Lappeenranta University of Technology, the National Defence University, the University of Oulu, and the University of Lapland.

I hold an M.Sc. (Tech.) in Industrial Engineering and Management (Helsinki University of Technology, 2001) and a D.Sc. (Tech.) in the field of work psychology and leadership (Aalto University, 2016).

During my career, I have worked with a wide range of companies and public sector organizations doing organizational change and development -related work. I continue to work as a trainer and coach in various commercial management education programmes.

My research focuses on developing new perspectives on organisational leadership and change. In my doctoral dissertation, I investigated the role of context in the construction of leadership. Building on this work, I have since explored leadership as a temporal phenomenon, examining how time and temporality shape leadership practices and processes.

I often adopt a cultural lens in my studies and have conducted several ethnographic field research projects that follows leadership and organisational change in practice.
