Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language; Chinese Characters; Teaching Methods; Error Analysis
I graduated from a rural high school in China. My educational experience taught me the importance of education, which is why I am so interested in pedagogy. As a Chinese person, I have always believed in viewing the world from both a Chinese perspective and a global perspective. Therefore, I have dedicated myself to teaching Chinese as a foreign language, not only to promote Chinese language and culture worldwide but also to appreciate and learn from other cultures. About the future, I have overcome numerous hardships, endured discrimination, insults, and criticism. I hope that students in the future will not have to suffer the same hardships I did, and I am striving for that kind of future.
I am currently researching how to apply board games to Chinese character teaching. My research focuses on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, Chinese characters, teaching methods, and error analysis.
In 2019, I worked part-time as a Chinese as a foreign language teacher in China for four months. My class had 20 international students from eight countries, including the United States, Russia, Congo, and Japan. The youngest was 19 years old, and the oldest was 65.
I am currently a teaching assistant at the University of Turku, assisting professors in teaching Chinese to university students. My class also has 20 students.
