Farhan Ahmad is a university lecturer in the Department of Information Systems at the Turku School of Economics. He is also adjunct professor at Åbo Akademi University and doctoral supervisor at Edinburgh Business School, UK. He has previously worked at Åbo Akademi University Finland, Edinburgh Business School Scotland and Edge Hill University Business School England. Ahmad holds two Master's degrees, one in Business and Management and the other in Sociological Demography, both from Stockholm University, Sweden. He completed his Ph.D. at Åbo Akademi University in 2018.
Farhan Ahmad's research spans knowledge management, knowledge sharing, workplace information literacy, and multilingual organizations. His current interests lie in two main areas of research: employees' use of generative AI or LLMs in the workplace and its implications, and the role of emerging technologies in sustainability.
Farhan brings expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research, with a particular interest in applying diverse methodological approaches such as fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), bibliometrics (including bibliographic coupling and co-citation analysis), and LDA topic modelling.
He has published in several international journals including Long Range Planning, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, International Journal of Information Management, Journal of International Management, Journal of Information Science, and Information Technology & People. He serves as a reviewer for a number of international journals.
His current teaching includes courses on knowledge and innovation management, business intelligence, emerging technologies, business models, and research methods. He has previously taught courses on knowledge management, information behavior, competitive intelligence, human resource management, knowledge creation, and business research methods.
