Metacognitive Interventions in Technology-Enhanced English for Academic Purpose Writing Instruction
I have started my PhD study at University of Turku since 2025. From 2015 to 2019 I studied English studies in China and obtained my bachelor's degree in 2019. In 2018, I was selected as an exchange student to study at the University of Western Australia for one semester. I started my master's in applied linguistics at the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2019 and obtained my master's degree in 2021. I was enrolled as a member of the research program Creation of Web-Based Language Technology Learning and Teaching Resources led by Dr. Martin Schweinberger in 2020.
My research focuses on exploring how data-driven learning (DDL) tools stimulate L2 learners' metacognitive awareness (MA) during the process of writing. The study will reveal whether DDL tools improve L2 learners' lexical collocations when MA is intervened from the linguistics perspective, how MA influences L2 students when applying different DDL tools to consult a specific collocation from the cognitive perspective, and how L2 learners' prompts to a particular DDL tool reflect their MA during computer-mediated collaborative writing from the educational perspective.
