Kristof Heidemann
Constitutional Law; Comparative Law; EU/ EEA Law
Kristof Heidemann is a PhD researcher under the supervision of Prof. Janne Salminen and Dr. Hanna Malik (LL.M.) at the Faculty of Law.
Previously, he studied at the University of Göttingen in Germany, the University of Bergen in Norway, and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in Japan.
During his studies he participated in the EEA Moot Court 2020, the Erasmus+ project "ECI: From A to Z" and worked as an editor at the Goettingen Journal of International Law (GoJIL).
He has conducted internships in the Federal Parliament of Germany as well as the State Parliament of Lower Saxony.
Kristof Heidemann's research focuses on constitutionalism and democracy. He is especially interested in legal protections against interferences into the democratic process, constitutional questions of national security and the prospects of constitutional implementations of democratic innovation proposals.
Kristof Heidemann has worked as an assistant teacher in the courses "Comparative Legal Research" and "Re-examining the Foundations of EU Law". On top of that, he has supported the "Legal German" course.
