Research
My doctoral thesis is about the practices of Finnish pig farming and the possible experiences of pigs, c. 1900-1970. I especially focus on the development of pig breeding and the lives and experiences of breeding pigs in practices related to breeding and reproduction of pigs. I will cover topics such as development of studbook for pigs, breeding of Finnish Landrace and Large White pigs, controlled breeding practices, caring for breeding pigs and different spaces and places of these pigs.
