Doctoral researcher in the Utuling Programme a the School of Language and Translation Studies. The dissertation is being written for the Department of Finnish and Finno-Ugric Language Studies. The research deals with written Standard Finnish, the problems regarding its language maintenance, and its associated language ideologies.

In addition to this, I serve as an assistant editor for two academic journals: Poliittinen talous and Tiedepolitiikka.

My research focuses on the written Standard Finnish, its norms, language maintenance, and associated ideologies. I examine related phenomena, including the attitudes of language professionals towards grammatical change, the language policing of written language on social media, and the gaps in the codification of the Standard.

I teach academic writing in the department of Finnish and Finno-Ugric Languages and Finnish writing and composition in the Centre for Language and Communication Studies.

I have also taught Finnish written communication studies at the Open University.
