Biografia

Yrjö Myllylä is a Doctor of Social Sciences and currently works as an affiliate member at the Future Research Center of the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku. Starting from 2023, he will also serve as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Eastern Finland, specifically in the field of Geography, with a focus on Regional Development and Regional Foresight. Dr. Myllylä's area of expertise lies in the utilization of future research and foresight methods in regional development and strategic processes. He is also interested in innovative entrepreneurship, clusters, and the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises. As an expert in future and foresight research, Dr. Myllylä is renowned for his work regarding the Delphi method for decision-making needs. Additionally, he has made significant contributions in the field of the future of the Arctic region, which was also the subject of his dissertation. Dr. Myllylä has worked as a research consultant at RD Aluekehitys Oy (Regional Development Ltd) as well.
