I am an interdisciplinary postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law, University of Turku. My current work brings together epistemologies of the South and new (feminist) materialism to study and create practices that offer solutions to complex social problems. I obtained my PhD at the University of Turku Faculty of Law with an interdisciplinary thesis on femi(ni)cide in Europe, especifically on Germany, using new (feminist) materialism and espitemologies of the South. I obtained my Master’s degree in the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Program in Gender and Women’s Studies (GEMMA) at the University of Granada and the University of Utrecht. And, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy in Mexico City. I have done research visits at the Finnish Institute in Germany, the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies (Humboldt University), Louis D. Brandeis School (Louisville University), and the ITAM Law School (Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology). I am co-founder and co-coordinator of the independent project Feminizidmap, a database on femi(ni)cides in German territory. My interests are vast and include feminist (legal) theory, new (feminist) materialism, posthumanism, epistemologies of the South, critical pedagogies, data feminism, and gender-based violence.
I have taught degree courses on Feminist legal theory (Turku University), Qualitative research methods and Social philosophy (Mesoamerican University).
