I am currently a part of the Ethical and Sustainable Language Teaching (EKKO) research group. My research topic relates to heritage language literacy level and English reading comprehension.
Working with text and multilingualism have always been close to heart, and currently I am a doctoral researcher in the Ethical and Sustainable Language Teaching (EKKO) project at the School of Languages and Translation Studies, working under a two-year grant from Kone Foundation. Before becoming a part of the EKKO project, I also worked under a four-month grant from the Oskar Öflund Foundation.
My research interests include social and linguistic sustainability as they relate to multilingualism. My doctoral dissertation concerns the impact of heritage language literacy level on English reading comprehension and takes a look at the different reading comprehension strategies multilingual learners use when reading English texts.
I am also interested in Finnish-to-English translation, editing, copywriting, transcreation and SEO translation and editing.
My doctoral research concerns the impact of heritage language literacy on English reading comprehension proficiency, with a focus on the impact of multilingualism. My research also takes a looks at the different English reading comprehension strategies multilingual students employ when reading texts in Endlish.
I have taught in grades 1-9 for 17 years. I have also taught at university level, e.g., English for academic purposes, English spoken communication, and English for the working world.
