Biography
Sen is an expert in bioinformatics and computational systems biology. He obtained PhD in 'Biological Sciences' from University of Montpellier2, France. He develops and applies best practices in computational biology by deploying mathematical modeling and machine learning techniques on x-omics (transcriptomics, metabolomics, metagenomics, etc.) datasets to study autoimmune and metabolic disease / disorders such as T1D, Celiac disease, Obesity and NAFLD in humans. Sen pursued his postdoctorate from Prof. Nielsen’s lab at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. There, he was involved in several international and EU projects under the topics metabolomics / lipidomics and human metabolism.

Currently, he is working as a senior postdoctoral researcher in the Systems Medicine group at Turku Bioscience, University of Turku, Finland, headed by Prof. Matej Oresic. He is involved in various cutting-edge projects which includes, modeling of immune cells and human gut microbiota in T1D and in NAFLD.
