Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS)
I work on the fields of literary studies, philosophy, and sustainability studies. My main focus is on the cultural responses to environmental crises and the ongoing sustainability transformation. In TIAS, I focus on cultivating local ecological knowledge in the peripheries of fossil modernity.
I have taught MA courses on speculative fiction, posthumanism, and environmental crises (mostly University of Helsinki, 2014 - 2020) and designed MOOC courses on planetary well-being (JYU.Wisdom / Jyväskylä Open University; see https://www.jyu.fi/en/open-university/courses-offered/planetary-well-being). In invited lectures, I have also covered topics on e.g., close reading and new materialism.
