Research
In my research, I am investigating the eco-evolutionary dynamics of an ongoing invasion in the Baltic Sea, specifically the invasion of the invasive mud crab, Rhithropanopeus harrisii. This species is a functionally novel type of predator in the shallow, littoral ecosystems of the Archipelago Sea. I analyse the evolutionary and plastic responses of native species to this invasive species and its effect on invasion dynamics. Additionally, I study changes in natural selection for producer traits resulting from invasion-induced evolutionary cascades.
