I am a Doctoral Researcher in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Turku, Finland. My work focuses on situational awareness and intelligent perception in autonomous systems. Before starting my doctoral studies, I worked as a Senior Database Administrator and IT Consultant, leading projects on large-scale data infrastructure, system optimization, and cloud migration. I hold an M.Sc. in Information and Communication Technology with a major in Robotics and Autonomous Systems from the University of Turku and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Technology from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico.
My research focuses on situational awareness and semantic understanding for autonomous systems through real-time 3D Scene Graph generation, multimodal sensor fusion, and knowledge management systems. I study how robots can perceive, interpret, and adapt to dynamic outdoor environments by integrating LiDAR, RGB-D, and Odometry data into hierarchical scene representations. My goal is to develop scalable and adaptive frameworks for long-term environmental understanding and knowledge management in complex, changing scenarios.
