Biografia

I am a doctoral researcher in Language and Translation Studies at the University of Turku. My research focuses on accessibility in the translation technology ecosystem. I examine how technological, organisational and professional practices shape inclusion and exclusion in translation work, with particular attention to the experiences of visually impaired translators and other users with accessibility needs. My broader research interests include translation technology, digital inclusion, assistive technology, inclusive design and accessibility in professional digital environments.

Tutkimus

My research focuses on accessibility in the translation technology ecosystem. I am interested in how accessibility is conceptualised in industry and organisational documentation, how it is addressed in the development of translation technologies, and how professional users experience the accessibility of these tools in their everyday work. I approach accessibility from a sociotechnical perspective and examine how technological, organisational and institutional factors shape inclusion and participation in professional translation.
