My research concentrates on the application of geostatistical methods, geoinformatics, remote sensing and in situ measurements on examining environmental patterns and processes.
I am a geographer, researcher and teacher. Mainly, my research has concentrated on the application of geostatistical methods, geoinformatics, remote sensing and in situ measurements on examining environmental patterns and processes.
As of September 2021, my work concentrates on pan-Arctic shoreline displacement patterns, their local realization and land use impacts (Academy of Finland postdoctoral project). My work continues on learning assessment in geography, and on spatial methodology in multidisciplinary human history research (Academy of Finland project URKO).
I am an associate processor (docent) in environmental geography (University of Turku 2023). I have a PhD in physical geography (University of Helsinki 2015) and I am a qualified subject teacher in geography and biology.
