Janne Korkka is a university lecturer at the Deparment of English, University of Turku, Finland. He is co-editor of Thinking with the Familiar in Contemporary Literature and Culture 'Out of the Ordinary' (Brill 2019) and the author of Ethical Encounters: Spaces and Selves in the Writings of Rudy Wiebe (Rodopi 2013) and has published articles in several research anthologies on Canadian writing and in such journals as English Studies and The Journal of Commonwealth Literature.
My research interests include Anglophone Canadian literature, Canadian Prairie and Arctic writing, ethics in literature, space in literature and animal studies.
I teach courses on literary studies, spoken English and North American Studies. I am also involved in PhD study guidance and work on curricular development.
