The purpose of this book chapter is to envision the impact of future technologies on international business. The study reveals the most impactful technologies and their associated changes to international business practice.
The empirical data build on a Delphi study that was conducted in summer 2020. This is the first study that takes a closer look at what the most impactful future technologies are and reveals the potential changes to international business practices. As a result, the findings enable researchers to focus on technologies that are going to have the biggest impact. Hence, international business scholars may use envisioned changes as a starting point for future studies. Building on Delphi methodology, this paper provides a method for international business and entrepreneurship scholars to identify the most impactful technologies.
