In order to improve the surface quality of TC4 titanium alloy parts, the effect of grinding parameters on surface integrity must be known. In this research, an experimental analysis has been conducted to understand the effect of grinding parameters, including cutting velocity, feed rate, grinding depth and abrasive size, on material removal and surface integrity. Before conducting experiment, test samples were pre-cut using same cutting parameters as in actual blade processing. Five level single factor experiments were designed for each grinding parameter, and surface parameters were measured. The results reveal that surface parameters are affected significantly by the grinding parameters. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
