Abstract

This article explores the topic of master’s thesis supervision in English-medium programmes in Finland, as an example of non-Anglophone countries. This article focusses on how institutions can respond more effectively to students’ and supervisors’ expectations of the thesis process and relationship. Based on the results of a survey among students and interviews with supervisors, this article discusses practices that could support the thesis supervision process and provides practical suggestions for higher education institutions, students, and thesis supervisors.
