This text examines the development of the museum sector in Finland by combining elements of creative writing and historical research. First written as an essay for Introduction to Museology, it addresses diverse concerns and questions about the current status of Finnish museums by using the Turku Art Museum as example. Moreover, this paper offers a comprehensive overview of the local and global agencies that regulate professionally managed museums in Finland, as well as highliting the importance of following and updating museum collection management policies to operate professional museums in the country.
