Pharmacoepidemiology is a study on medication use patterns and outcomes
in large populations using epidemiological methods. As a discipline,
pharmacoepidemiology is young and it is developing fast. In this
chapter, we will discuss considerations in pharmacoepidemiological
studies with a view on the most recent developments in availability of
large data sources, exposure definition and controlling for confounding.
