The purpose of this article is to explore some dimensions of the global spread of New Age through a specific case, which is the localised New Age in a Finnish city, Turku. At first, I will position the New Age phenomenon on to the map of religion in late modernity and Finland as well as reflect on some of its main characteristics. After that I will discuss New Age in the religious field of Turku: what forms it takes and what local bookstores tell us about New Age. This leads us to a discussion of glocality, where I will explore how the notion helps us to understand contemporary local–global relations. My aim is to show that we can find a combination of both global and local features that can best be described as glocal.
