Supranormal World War II – Experimental Heritage from Finnish Lapland

I am writing a doctoral thesis on Finnish narratives from the World War II about experiences interpreted as supernatural. The subject is sensitive and difficult, even though the experiences were common and they helped in coping with war. Raising the experiences opens up and enriches the conception of intimate, sensitive and human side of war.

Difficult cultural heritage can be defined as the past, which is a meaningful to the present but whose handling has been difficult. Experiences have often been silenced, though they are related to extreme conditions and survival. Fortunately in the present it is already possibly to say: "I have experienced this".
