The veneers are restorations generally performed on the labial surface of aesthetically compromised anterior teeth. The tooth preparation is restricted to the removal of a small layer of the tooth surface, on the area visible during smile or conversation, conserving the proximal and lingual surfaces. The restoration can be performed directly, with composite resins, or indirectly with a ceramic or composite. The indirect restoration requires the impression or scanning of the preparation, as well a temporary restoration. The internal surface of these restorations must be treated and an adhesive cementation performed. The veneers allow not only the tooth shade improvement but also correction of shape and contour, recovering the aesthetics of the smile.
