Abstract
The aim of this paper is to discuss the use of the environmental attitude surveys as a part of corporate environmental management (CEM). In order to reach this goal this paper describes the development process of devising an environmental attitude survey indicator for Finnish municipalities and results of the first implementation round. Altogether 11,024 municipality employees answered the survey. The respondents had highly positive attitude towards environmental issues. The respondents were the least satisfied with municipalities’ environmental actions. As the results of this survey follow those of the previous research this environmental attitude survey can be labelled as successful. Environmental attitude surveys used as part of CEM offer a good way of gathering feedback from the employees of the environmental work done in the company. Surveys are also a good way for the employees to participate in CEM. The practicalities of conducting the survey are also discussed.
