Best practice analysis is a common method to learn from the success and
also failure factors of the leaders of the field and develop customised
policies to apply in another context. This also applies to the knowledge
and innovation space development planning. The chapter focuses on
placing global knowledge precinct best practice under the place making
microscope and drawing lessons for other cities. The investigated cases
include 22@Barcelona from Spain, Silicon Valley from the USA, One-North
from Singapore, and Macquarie Park from Australia. The lessons generated
are discussed in the context of for Brisbane from Australia to
consider. However, the findings are also relevant to many other cities
with emerging knowledge precincts.
