The studied cases in the previous chapter generate wealth of knowledge
and empirical evidence. These case studies also indicate the importance
of tradition, strategic management, and mindset towards innovative
development. All the cases are strongly committed to innovation and
digitalisation. The cases perform differently according the statistical
evidence giving indications for potential areas of improvement. Cases
also share the significance of the Baltic Sea as one of their main
international trade routes. This chapter provides a conclusion to this
part of the book that looks into empirical evidence in better
understanding the characteristics of geographies of innovation and
disruption.
