The purpose of this chapter is to describe the nature and implementation on individualised nursing care among surgical patients. The nature of this care is operational, the patient-professional contact is short and the emphasis is on supporting recovery and self-management by educational activities. In this chapter, we first describe the nature of individualised nursing care and then move on to the support on this care.
