Due to growing amount of data on citizens, customers, products, partners and patients, numerous trials have been made to create a scientific framework for governing that data. Existing frameworks handle either data governance itself, or the maturity of organizations data governance function. However, those frameworks are very specific, suitable only for a certain context. A more general, business oriented governance of data framework seems to be needed. In this article, literature on data governance is reviewed using the systematic literature review method. Special attention is paid to data governance on health related data. Based on this literature review, the need for more generic governance model is reasoned.
