Masculinism, or masculism, is a countermovement to feminism that has functioned in Western countries since the 1980s. Masculinists identify themselves primarily as men, and as activists promoting the rights of men and fathers. They claim that men are in a worse position than women because of the decades-long emphasis on women's rights and the feminization of society.
