The paper is an update to Kai Kimppa’s 2008 paper “Censorship: Case Finland”. The main focus is to present the current – changed but unimproved – situation of government enforced censorship of Finnish internet usage. This paper introduces the major things that have happened in Finnish censorship culture and the major points and reasons lying underneath are derived from the original paper. This paper introducing the current situation of the Finnish censorship system is based mainly on journalistic and government sources, public discussions and critiques because of a lack of scientific literature on the subject. This is due to the current and actively changing and local-focused nature of the issue.
