The paper is a cross-national
study on youth environmental awareness in Europe. Young people have a special
role in creating environmental awareness. In global scale a large part of the
population is young people. It is, therefore, not indifferent how adolescents
are involved with environmental issues and how they commit themselves to
environmental actions. In this paper, youth among the ages of 15-29 years will
be examined in a cross-national research design comprising 17 European
countries included in the ISSP 2010 data. The data consist of 3876 responses.
The purpose of the study is to address to proenvironmental behaviour among the European youth targeting
on its individual, psycho-social conditions. The data
will be analysed using the SPSS and Mplus to build a structural equation model
(SEM).
