I have studied photosyntesis, more specifically the dynamics of the proteins and protein complexes in thylakoid membrane. My PhD thesis focused on the assembly of the Photosytem II protein complex in higher plants. After the PhD degree, I have studied regulation of electron transfer routes and cyclic electron transfer as well as several auxiliary proteins and chaperones, such as the DNAJ proteins, which are involved in regulation of photosynthesis. I have also expertise on the acclimation of the photosynthetic machinery to the fluctuating light conditions. Methodologically, I have specialized in analyzing the dynamics of the thylakoid membrane protein complexes by using native gel electrophoresis.
Teaching experience
I have worked as a university teacher for 2009-2010, and again in 2014-2015. My teaching experience includes teaching in plant anatomy, plant biochemistry, biochemistry of photosynthesis, proteomics, plant cell and tissue culture methods, plants and environment, basics of biochemistry, basics of cell biology and scientific writing. Additionally, I have supervised several MSc thesis and three PhD thesis.
