I have always been eager to explore and observe nature, paired with a lifelong fascination for technology. This passion has shaped my research career over the last decade during which I have built a strong expertise and skill sets in forest mensuration and remote sensing with particular focus on close-range remote sensing technologies such as laser scanning (85+ peer-reviewed publ.).
I currently hold the position of University Research Fellow at the Digital Waters Flagship at University of Turku. My research ambitions focus on investigating how geo-, bio- and hydrodiversities interact in the northern riverine environments, shaping the ecosystem resilience and functionality while providing critical ecosystem services. I am specially interested in how climate change and land-use dynamics alter the interactions through time. My work integrates and develops cutting-edge geospatial technologies and artificial intelligence driven methodologies, creating novel ways to analyze the complex environmental datasets.
