Biogeography; Botanical nomenclature; Macroevolution; Molecular systematics; Phylogenetics; Taxonomy; Tropical biodiversity
I am broadly interested in tropical biodiversity and its evolutionary history. My own research related to this topic is concentrated on tropical South America, where I have been studying the taxonomy and systematics of ferns and aquatic plants. At global level, I am especially fascinated by the drivers that have resulted in the uneven distribution of biodiversity at spatial, temporal and taxonomic scales.
