Biography

I am a researcher of Finnish history specializing in the life cycle of research materials. Most recently, I served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the project Förfalskarna – Allmogens litterarisering och kunskap om det svenska språket i brottslig kontext i Finland under 1800-talets första hälft.

Currently, I work as an Information Specialist at the University of Lapland, focusing on research data management and open science. In recent years, I have worked both in various research projects and as an expert in archives, museums, and libraries.

I earned my PhD in Finnish History in 2019 and hold additional qualifications in archival, library, and museum studies.

Research

My research interests include the lifecycle and openness of research materials as well as the relationships between historical research, archives, and museums. The perspectives from archival science are closely intertwined with my research on the history of everyday life, gender history, and family history.

My doctoral dissertation examined the publication of medieval sources in Finland from both archival and historiographical perspectives. In particular I focused on the continuity of publishing the Black Book of Abo Cathedral.

Teaching

At the University of Lapland I teach courses on research data management and scholarly publishing in the Doctoral School. I also teach the use of archival sources in the discipline of Cultural History.

From 2014 to 2018 I worked as a University Teacher in the Master's Degree Pathway in Records and Archives Management where I was responsible for development, coordination and teaching. In addition, I have taught medieval history and archival science.

I have completed pedagogical studies for subject teachers as well as basic-level studies in university pedagogy.
