I have been interested in the pathogenesis, pathophysiology, diagnosis, severity assessment and treatment of various surgical infections and inflammatory states, particularly in pancreatobiliary diseases such as acute pancreatitis, and in acute appendicitis. My major study topics include also colorectal cancer.
During the last decade, I have focused my main scientific interest on international and national prospective randomized multicenter controlled trials on endoscopic and emergency surgery, particularly on endoscopic biliary and pancreatic surgery and on acute appendicitis.
All surgical specialties, particularly Emergency Surgery, Gastroenterological Surgery and Endoscopic Surgery.
