Cyanobacteria; photosynthesis; alternative electron transfer pathways; proteomics; metabolic engineering.
I did my PhD studies in the research group of Academician Eva-Mari Aro at the Department of Biochemistry in University of Turku and I graduated with honours in 2017. After this I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Karin Stensjö’s group at Uppsala University, Sweden, in Microbial Chemistry unit during 2018-2020, where I conducted metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria aiming towards bioproduction of volatile hydrocarbons.
I am working as a postdoctoral researcher at Photomicrobes research group led by Prof. Yagut Allahverdiyeva-Rinne. In my current research, my focus is in cyanobacterial photosynthesis and metabolism analyzed, for example, by mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics.
