I am Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Turku. I have worked at different teaching posts in the same university from 1986 to 2024, since 2010 as Professor of Sociology. I have also been a Docent of Sociology of Housing at my home university since 1995 and a guest professor in Sociology with specialization on housing and social theory at Uppsala University, Sweden (2019-2024). I am the editor-in-chief of the international journal Housing, Theory and Society.
As Professor Emeritus I continue to reflect and research on issues concerning housing and housing policy. My current intrests include residential segregation, neighbour relations, housing policy change and the process of housing acquisition.
As professor emeritus I have no teaching duties. Howeve, I have given invited lectures in courses taught by others. I am also supervising two doctoral dissertations.
