Tutkimus

I am working in the field of pharmacometrics, where I use the 'population approach' (i.e. non-linear mixed effects modeling) to describe the pharmacokinetic (PK) and/or pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) behaviors of drugs in the human body. I am applying these concepts to data from ongoing clinical trials, that are being actively carried out at the Turku University Hospital, with anesthetic agents and pain medications. The rationale is to elucidate the optimal dosing schemes for these drugs for use in pain medicine, in an attempt to implement precision medicine in this area of medical care provision.
