Mehdi Ghasemi received his PhD from the Department of English at the University of Turku. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tampere and the Finnish Literature Society (SKS). Now he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of English at the University of Turku. He is also a fiction writer, writing his books in the hybrid genre of “noveramatry” (a combination of novel, drama and poetry). He has already published six scholarly books, five fiction books, one literary anthology, and thirty scholarly papers in peer-reviewed, high-quality journals, including Orbis Litterarum, Mosaic: A Journal for the Interdisciplinary Study of Literature, Journal of Black Studies, Journal of Literary Studies, European Journal of American Studies, Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, SAGE Open, Journal of Literature and Trauma Studies, Immigrants and Minorities, The CEA Critic, Acta Philologica, SPELL: Swiss Papers in English Language and Literature, The Polar Journal, Literary Geographies, and Contemporary Aesthetics.
Mehdi Ghasemi has more than 12 years of teaching experience at university level, teaching technical courses to BA and MA students, majoring in English Language and Literature. He has passed 100 credits in Higher Education Pedagogy at the University of Turku, University of Tampere, Aalto University and TAMK. At the University of Turku, he has taught:
