I, Javad Rajabalizadeh, successfully defended my doctoral dissertation at the Turku School of Economics (TSE), University of Turku, Finland, receiving the highest grade, Laudatur (“Outstanding”). My dissertation, titled “Chief Executive Officers' Communication Strategies in 10-K Reports via Repetition from Notes to MD&A: The Impact of Managerial Ability, Overconfidence, and Narcissism,” explores how CEO personal traits influence the strategic repetition of information in corporate financial disclosures.
This multidisciplinary research integrates perspectives from accounting, psychology, and computer science and contributes to a deeper understanding of how executive characteristics shape corporate communication strategies and financial transparency.
Following the completion of my PhD, I am continuing my academic career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Accounting and Finance, Turku School of Economics, University of Turku. My postdoctoral research has been supported by the Foundation for Economic Education, the Turku School of Economics Support Foundation, and the Turku School of Economics Association through competitive research grants, scholarships, and publication awards.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I received the Best Dissertation Award at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, ranked among the top 0.2% of students in the Iranian Master's Degree Entrance Examination, and was among the top 3% in the Iranian University Entrance Examination. Beyond academia, I have gained experience as a research assistant, workshop instructor, and co-auditor. I am actively involved with several academic and professional organizations, including the European Accounting Association (EAA), Iranian Accounting Association (IAA), Iranian Financial Engineering Association (IFEA), and Iran's National Elites Foundation (INEF).
I am fluent in English, Persian, and Turkish. Outside my professional and academic activities, I enjoy various outdoor activities, including futsal and swimming, which help me maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Turku School of Economics (TSE), I am now focusing independently on my research topics, building upon the work completed in my doctoral studies. My current research interests continue to focus on corporate narrative disclosures, financial reporting quality, and corporate governance, with a strong emphasis on advanced textual analysis methods.
With over ten years of professional and academic experience in accounting, auditing, and finance, I have developed a robust foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, as well as in statistical and econometrical analysis. I am highly proficient in advanced statistical and econometrical software, including Stata, Eviews, and SPSS. I also have extensive experience working with major financial databases such as WRDS (Compustat, CRSP, BoardEx, Execucomp, Audit Analytics), Refinitiv Eikon (Thomson Reuters), and Bloomberg. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge of Python programming and some knowledge of R, further enriching my analytical and technical expertise.
My research findings have been published in several international journals, including The British Accounting Review, Business Strategy and the Environment, Managerial Auditing Journal, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, International Journal of Accounting and Information Management, Asian Review of Accounting, Management Decision, Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting, Spanish Accounting Review, Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting, Journal of Risk and Financial Management, and the Journal of Language and Social Psychology (JUFO 3).
