Biografia

I was born and raised in Nandyal (Andhra Pradesh), India. I pursued my master's degree in organic chemistry at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, India. I received my Ph.D. in chemical science from the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. Where my research was focused on the biomimetic total Synthesis of complex natural products mainly bioactive lactones from carbohydrate scaffolds and Artemisinic acid glycoconjugates synthesis. I later moved to the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), USA  for my postdoctoral research, where I worked on α-functionalization of Cysteine type amino acids with various alkyl halides using photocatalysis and dimeric compounds synthesis through dearomatization reactions. After that, I spent a year working as an Associate Scientist at GVK Biosciences, a CRO based in Hyderabad, India. I am currently working as a TCSMT postdoctoral researcher at the Department of chemistry, University of Turku, Finland. My research focuses on the synthesis of modified nucleosides, oligonucleotides, metallated oligonucleotides, and their conjugation to develop hybridization probes.

Tutkimus

Modified nucleosides and nucleic acids, Oligonucleotide chemistry, developing covalently mercurated hybridization probes.
