Solar energetic particle events, acceleration and transport of energetic particles in space plasma environments, multi-spacecraft observations
Heliospheric Physics, Space Plasma Physics
My academic name is Nina Dresing, and I am a University Research Fellow in the Space Research Laboratory, Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Turku. I started my career as a space physicist in the group of Heliospheric Astroparticle Physics at the University of Kiel, Germany. I obtained my PhD in 2014, followed by a postdoctoral period. In 2020 I moved to the University of Turku as a TCSMT Colleguim Researcher and junior group leader. In 2022 I won a 5-year Academy of Finland Fellowship.
My research focuses on the generation of solar energetic particle events including the underlying transport and acceleration mechanisms. I am an expert in analyzing various spacecraft measurements taken by numerous space missions in the heliosphere.
