Biography

Elisa Repo (M.A.) is a doctoral researcher in applied linguistics and educational sciences at the University of Turku, Finland and at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. Her doctoral thesis focuses on increasing linguistic diversity in school. Besides research, Elisa has been working as a university teacher in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Turku, teaching courses on language-awareness, language learning, multilingualism, and language and literature pedagogy. Before, she has taught Finnish language in multilingual lower secondary schools in Finland and worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Hamburg in Germany and as a Fulbright FLTA at Indiana University in the USA. In 2022, Elisa works as a visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley in the USA.



Teaching

I have taught pre-and in-service teachers on language and cultural awareness, multilingual pedagogy, Finnish as a second language, and language and literature pedagogy.
