I am a researcher in the EU-funded Sincrony project, which aims to enhance youth participation by focusing on young people who are marginalized or otherwise face barriers to participation.
In addition, I am writing a dissertation examining the significance of education in youth civic engagement. My dissertation research was funded in 2023 by the Turku University Foundation and the Finnish Cultural Foundation Varsinais-Suomi Regional Fund.
I graduated as a class teacher from the University of Turku in 2017. Between 2017 and 2019, I worked as a project researcher in the EU's H2020 projects Next-Lab, Open Schools for Open Societies, and Ark of Inquiry. From 2020 to 2022, I was a doctoral researcher at the University of Turku Graduate School (UTUGS). In the fall of 2022, I worked on the Education, Political Efficacy, and Informed Citizenship (EPIC) research project at the University of Tampere.
In my dissertation I explore youth civic engagement and the role of education in its development.
